Transitioning from Potentiality to Actuality

As the eldest, I only wish my relationship with my sister was like those of others: close. I can’t help but reflect and compare how we were in the past to now and even the future.  Our days living together is truly a struggle at times; ones that involve hidden tension, attitudes, mispoken lines, and unnecessary situations.  Some days are good, tolerable, or unbearable. Underneath all of that I know the concept of love is still existent, despite all we have been through.  I’ve come to terms with how you are, how you carry yourself, and in summation just everything that characterizes your personality.

Today you’ve reached an age that is a marker of independence and adulthood.  However the true test of change and growth is still at the surface.  Change can be difficult, but I know you have the potential to refine and mold a better “you”.  One day you will realize that embracing your sources of strength, inspiration, and support is critical to your growth.  Despite the vast boundaries between us, I will continue to look out for you, support you, and intervene if necessary.  Just like how our parents have undying faith and love in their children, I share the same feelings toward you.

-Happy 21st Birthday Chem.

I’d much rather just sit on my floor with my guitar and kumbaya for awhile.. Or read. Whichever. […] It’s the best form of meditation in the world. You, your guitar, and nothing else.

It’s been awhile. I’m using my sister’s guitar this time since I got it back the other day.
Just an early morning jam to Jenny Suk’s rendition of rocketeer.

Internalization

Frustration vs. slight disappointment

E.E. - Questioning our ways of coping and support.

Our support system is heavily tied into our interpersonal interactions.  Whether this system consists of family, friends, acquaintances, etc.. we find ourselves depending or confiding in others to a certain extent during stressful events or certain life phases.  Some situations discourage us or puzzle our current way of thinking.  It can cause us to lose sight of ourselves or hinder our goals of improvement.  Sometimes it’s good to question our definition of support.  Actually, there can be a conflict between support and comfort.  Is comfort what we really need?  What exactly comforts us and is that particular type of ‘comfort’ necessary? I understand that there are individual differences in our ways of coping or our approach. Is our support or comfort hindering our goals or blinding us from reality? To say it in this fashion is contradictory to the definition of both support and comfort.  What we may see as helpful could actually only be temporary or only fill the void to entertain or keep us occupied.  We are all vulnerable to any form of stress. In fact, our current ways of thinking are the actuators to translating our plans into motion.  There are those who build upon it in either a positive or negative way.  If the actuator drives our system of thinking, then the support (or so it seems) which can help or hinder it should definitely be in question.

I deleted the video but a couple of people asked me to put the song back up!
I was testing out my friend’s microphone.  I used Jenny Suk’s rendition of “Sooner Than Later” by drake and jammed a bit with my guitar.

Mmm did a quick acoustic instrumental of “Gravity” by Sara Barielles.  Just a random one take after listening to the song on my playlist.
